The Value of Endowment

Contents

Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC is fortunate to have a significant number of endowed chairs to support the hospital’s mission. Endowment funds offer lasting financial resources because of the income generated through careful investment management. A strong endowment enables the hospital to move forward with plans and projects knowing that permanent resources are available to support groundbreaking research and innovative teaching programs.

The endowed chairs listed below were established through the generosity of foundations, corporations and individuals. The physician holding each chair, together with an advisory committee, determines the teaching and research activities that are supported by income from the chair.
