Type 2 Diabetes Youth Study
The purpose of this study is to evaluate why children develop Type 2 diabetes and if they have blood vessel problems.
Compensation provided.
Candidates
- Adolescents and young adults, 10 to 20 years of age, with Type 2 diabetes, healthy overweight children, and overweight children at risk for developing Type 2 diabetes.
- Duration of diabetes 0 to 7 years
Requirements
- Screening interview, physical exam
- Study involves blood tests, body composition and carotid ultrasound
Duration: two overnight stays at Children’s Hospital
