Research Interests

Carolyn Coyne, PhD, is an associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, serving the departments of: Microbiology and Molecular Genetics; Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences; Pediatrics; and Immunology. She is also Director of the Center for Microbial Pathogenesis. Her research combines important aspects of virology, immunology, and cell biology to dissect various aspects of host-virus interactions, with a particular focus on polarized cell types.
