Research Interests

Pneumocystis is a dimorphic fungi that causes an opportunistic pneumonia in HIV and non-HIV immunocompromised individuals. Ideally, a vaccine could be developed to prevent infection in high-risk patients instead of relying on prophylactic antibiotic therapy. My current work focuses on examining conserved antigens throughout fungal species in an attempt to discover new targets for vaccine development.
