Description of Services

Made up of commissioned police officers who receive annual mandatory training, the Public Safety Department is dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment for patients, parents, visitors and employees. All employees are asked to utilize all police services and to comply with the policies related to security. Services provided by Public Safety include:

• Physical security of all Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC properties
• Alarm surveillance and access control systems
• Control of locks and keys
• Training updates for employees
