The Government Relations staff of UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh advocates on behalf of children and families for numerous health-related issues and concerns. We ask for your support.

Voting in PA

To register to vote in Pennsylvania you must:

  • Be 18 years old by Election Day
  • Be a U.S. citizen for at least one month before the election
  • Have lived in your election district for at least 30 days before Election Day

You need to register NOW if …

  • You have moved
  • You want to change your party affiliation
  • There is a mix-up in your registration and you needed a court order to vote in the last election
  • You have changed your name (e.g. through marriage)
  • You changed your address, yet still live in the same election district

Meanwhile, here is how you can become a registered voter in Pennsylvania:

Option 1: Register to vote in person

(Please note: The deadline for in-person voter registration is 30 days before each primary or election)

  • At your local Elections office

  • Pennsylvania State offices that provide public assistance and services to persons with disabilities
  • Armed Service Recruitment Centers
  • Area agencies on aging
  • Centers for independent living
  • Allegheny County mental health and mental retardation offices
  • Student disability services offices of the State System of Higher Education
  • Offices of Special Education
  • The Allegheny County Marriage License Bureau, first floor, City-County Building in downtown Pittsburgh, or
  • PennDot Driver’s License Centers, if you are applying for or renewing your Pennsylvania Driver’s License. Your application for a driver’s license or renewal may also serve as an application for voter registration or an update to your voter registration status.

Option 2: Register by mail and obtain forms

(Please note: Registration-by-mail forms must be postmarked no later than the voter registration deadline.)

  • All branches of the Carnegie Library and Northland Public Library
  • Many municipal buildings
  • State liquor stores
  • Some branches of the United State Postal Service
  • Many federal, State Senate and State House of Representative district offices
  • Political parties and organizations
  • Many colleges and universities
  • Many Co-Go and Giant Eagle stores
