It was a very good experience. She took two worried parents and eased their minds with exam and solutions.
Dr. Austin made my daughter feel so much more at ease. She's going to need surgery and Dr. Austin took the time to draw her a picture and explain what was going on in a way my 7 year old could understand.
we are very happy with Dr Kelly Austin! she is so caring and compassionate.
very impressed with the doctor and children's hospital
Dr. Austin was great! I had to stop her to understand some of the medical terminology she used, but I felt she gave my daughter a thorough exam and gave me confidence that she will be ok.
Dr Austin is the first doctor in 5 years to truly listen to us about our son's gastro medical history.
We are so thankful for Dr. Austin and the staff at the colorectal center! They have been so attentive to our sons needs and working with us to address acute issues as well as create a long-term plan to help him towards independent bowel movements. We always receive prompt replies from their office and they go above and beyond to help our son!
Dr. Austin has been wonderful with our daughter. Everything happening is explained very well and all our questions/concerns are answered.
Dr Austin and her team were very helpful during our visit. Everything was explained clearly during the appointment. In addition, Dr Austin very patiently explained and discussed the process of what we would be doing with my son during the course of his treatment. My son was feeling anxious at the time so I really appreciated how well she interacted with him.
Dr. Kelly Austin made our transition from our old doctor great. She interacted well with our daughter medically and even shared thoughts on my daughter's favorite books she has been reading. She was very easy to deal with. We love UPMC!
We are so pleased by Dr. Austin's care for our son . She is an outstanding surgeon and does her very best !! if you guys had Dr/Surgeon of the month I would highly recommend you pick her !
Dr. Austin kept telling me unnecessary information instead of staying on subject. my child will be born with an Omphalocele and that was what I wanted to discuss but she kept telling me about gastroschisis and how those babies do worse. I just wish she would've focused more on the problem my child has. And discuss with me what to expect. instead I got alot of info about how the 2 conditions are different. which I already knew thanks to Google.
Everything went well. She explained everything in a clear and concise manner.
awesome experience overall!
We really enjoyed having the opportunity to see and work with Dr. Austin and her team. It was very nice to be able to express our concern without being told what to do.
Dr. Austin is incredible. She is consistently knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and wonderful at interacting with our son.
we had a GD day with the doc they were great
Dr Austin and the entire 6B ward provided exceptional service and care for my daughter from April 29th to yesterday. I will forever be grateful for the care and compassion shown by everyone that participated in the treatment!
Our provider was very informative with a wonderful bedside manner.
We had a great experience with Dr. Austin during her pre operation visit, the day of surgery and at her follow up appointment. Dr. Austin is very patient, kind, caring, and knowledgeable.
the dr was absolutely wonderful. she was kind and compassionate she treated lily with respect. she gave new insights. thanks so much
Dr. Austin solved a perplexing health issue for our child based on a natural curiosity, innate generosity, and professional expertise that we believe most doctors, even at her level, rarely achieve. The genuine empathy and concern she has shown for our son is extraordinary and has led to excellent care. We are very grateful for Dr. Austin.
we we're recamended to Dr.Austin when my child was having an issue she is so great about taking care of his problem she has gone above and beyond helping us.
she did my sons surgery and this visit was a follow up. she took great care of us
Excellent surgeon. She has been a tremendous blessing.
Excellent experience with doctor as first time surgery consult.
Dr Austin was amazing she sat with me and my daughters Step Father and explined everything to use in terms that we could understand. She did not leave anything out even drawing diagrams to explain what she was saying. She did wonderful when it came to comforting my daughter when she was scared. I would go to Dr Austin any day as she is a very comptient Dr and didn't make herself seem Superior to anyone but more like she was the same as any person making us feel better about her. With both me and my husband having medical background knowledge she still didn't use the fancy medical terminology that would not be understood by someone who doesn't have the medical background. So overall I think Dr Austin is an amazing Dr and person and I would choose her for any other issues that my children might have
Dr Austin was incredibly knowledgeable, yet personable. She explained everything to my teen and we appreciated being spoken to as intelligent individuals.
she took our sons anxiety disorder into account when speaking to him about his upcoming surgery
It was a great experience for her first follow-up, thank you!
Dr. Austin was absolutely amazing. she explained everything to my son that she was going to do, and to where he could understand it. My son would not have wanted anyone else. We love her!
Dr. Austin displayed excellent bed-side manners, knowledge in her specific field and skill at explaining things in ways we can understand. She did slip a few times and use medical jargon beyond our understanding, but she was very patient when we asked her to elaborate, etc.
My son is multiply handicapped w abdominal issues and multiple previous surgeries. We have been following Dr. Austin for 2 years for my son s Gallbladder disease and Hirschsprungs. Dr. Kelly always answers our concerns and is very caring.
Doctor was very nice and informative and answered all our questions.
