They were very patient with him even though he was upset and nervous at times during the visit.
The Doctor is so professional and experienced. He is content and very polite. I do recommend him.
Dr. Pihlblad performed muscle surgery on my left eye to correct a double vision issue. I chose to be awake for the surgery and he did explain in advance (at my appt on 9/27/19) that there would be a part of the surgery that would be painful. It was, but am glad I chose this way to avoid anesthesia. The surgery was successful!!!!
Very nice folks to deal with.
Very friendly care takers, take time for you even if they're swamped with patients
While he seems knowledgeable and knows what he is doing, he was dismissive of our thoughts and experiences with our daughter. He lacks empathy and sincerity. It is almost like a business transaction for him. Having seen and interacted with numerous doctors for our daughter's complex medical needs, we have always been treated so kindly and with the empathy and patience that we need/desire. His demeanor is a stark contrast to every other doctor we have interacted with, and we have seen many doctors. It truly seems that he does not care about our daughter or how we feel. Again, I do not question his clinical judgement or level of expertise. But, his complete lack of empathy made receiving news on her condition even worse.
Dr. Pihlblad was great in terms of answering our questions to best of his ability. He wasn't always the warmest with our 3 year old though I value technical expertise more than ability to engage with a 3 year in this situation though sometimes it was difficult to illicit the right response from kiddo depending on his interactions. He was not presumptuous or overconfident prior to surgery which was a little unsettling for me as a parent however in hidsight I appreciate that he was honest about his surgical plan and what needed to just be assessed in the moment during the actual surgery. He did a great job with the surgery itself. I feel the issues and difficulties we've had with visits to his office are more structural in terms of scheduling and waiting excessively long times for a 3 year old. In the end the 3 year old is not able to stay focused and well behaved and by the time we actually see the doctor, he's a mess and doesn't cooperate well during his appointments.
fully explained everything at this pre-surg visit
He was great! He listened to what questions I had and answered to the best of his ability.
he does not act in a professional manner with parents. I have been there with several grandkids and if the parent opinion differs from his he does not even listen or like to consider their opinion. he did not ask if we needed a script. If current glasses fit. there was a vision change and his response was sit closer to things far away. Will never see him again!
Excellent service, very informative and caring.
Very happy that the doctor was familiar with challenges associated with Down Syndrome - that's very uncommon in my experience and so appreciated! Worked well with a child who was definitely not happy to be there; extremely kind and patient. Also like the more conservative approach to intervention.
Very good doctor but ridiculous that had to wait over an hour for our appt.
we had an appt for 1pm and waited 2 hours. other than the wait time, the visit was pleasant. it is extremely difficult to keep an 8 month entertained for such a long time for such a short visit
it was awesome to see all of the staff interact age-appropriately with my daughter. she was mostly all smiles !
he explained the importance of the exam of his eye and the spot on back.
the staff and doctor is very very nice.
Seemed knowledgeable in some specific areas. did not know what was wrong with me. That is fine if he didnt know, rather than tell me something untrue. But what didn't happen was future steps. He did not know what was wrong, did not want to see me again, did not refer me to someone who might know, and didn't seem to want to deal with my case.
Dr. Pihlblad is wonderful and once we were able to see him, our care was excellent.
Dr. Pihlblad was great. Absolutely no complaints about the doctor himself or the care he provided!
we waited an hour in the waiting room before we were seen, and that was after we had an earlier appointment in the day. we tried to check in early, the waiting room was empty at he tjme. but were told to come back at our scheduled appointment time, which is understandable. but when we've seen other doctors at children's, with multiple appointments, they've been extremely flexible with the time. it was very frustrating to be there all day, check in early for our scheduled time, and still have to wait an hour just to be seen.
they were good with my daughter. she is autistic so they worked well with her
Very positive experience.
long wait times
everyone in the office was kind and friendly
waited in the waiting room for over an hour. appt was at 9. didnt get taken back until after 10.
Good: we were able to get in quickly to schedule surgery with the doctor Bad: Waiting room is far too small for the amount of patients and families that come in.
Couldn't wish for a better pediatrician or clinical staff at the location, and the nurses are all terrific!
Dr. Pihlblad was wonderful to work with. He took time to explain things to me and worked very well with my baby.
Dr. Pihlblad is very approachable. He listens and discusses things in a manner both myself and my daughter can understand, and answers our questions in an honest manner with reasonable expectations.
Provider and all office staff were execeptually friendly, professional, and helpful.
very friendly office staff and efficient. doctor was competent and a good communicator.
Dr. was extremely intelligent on the subject. He explained everything to me that I could understand, and very easy to talk to.
Wonderful doctor; very knowledgeable and handles my son well.
Thank you for taking good care of my child.
Very satisfied with care received by this provider.
This physician and his staff are prompt, courteous and kind.
He pushed way too much towards a surgical procedure as opposed to the less invasive procedure we agreed on in the end
the waiting time was so long. Not only with the eye doctor but with most of my children appointments at the children hospital of Pittsburgh.
We have had one bad experienced and I'm sure it won't happen again. We handled the matter.
he seemed very rushed due to patient load.. when asked about my sons pre op it was pushed aside. then did eye pressure and didnt explain anything to meself or my autistic child
Arrived early and was taken in right away. Questions and concerns were addressed to my satisfaction.
all was well it was a great experience
our appointment was for 9am and we didn't get seen untill 11am. that was the only negative.
He was 1 hour and 30 mins behind. I understand doctors can run behind but that is unexectable in my opinion. At check in it said he was delayed but when I tried to ask how delayed the receptionist just said he's trying his best to get caught up. When the doctor finally came into the room he never introduce himself or acknowledged the fact he was so behind. He went straight into my son's medical history, the procedure he needed and if I had any questions. He was by no means rude but he was almost like a robot spitting out the info. I get that that's his specialty and that he probably does it a million times a day but a bit more warmth and personality would mean a lot to a mom whose 1 year has to have an eye procedure done. Quite honestly if I had the time and money I would want to see another doctor because I'm not sure how comfortable I am knowing this doctor is going to be taking care of my son. Like I said I know he's very good at his job but his demeanor was somewhat off putting.
Dr philblat preformed eye surgery on me he adusted his schedule to fit me in. HAD HE NOT I WIULD HAVE HAD TO GO AN ADDITIONAL 3months with double vision. I was extremely satisfied with his skill and ability. It was a huge relief after a very rough year. He was an excellent Doctor.
didn't discuss findings until end of visit - would like to have known something before that since worried about NF symptoms
Takes the time to listen to my concerns and have faith that his advice is correct.
We were seen on time and helped in a very nice and friendly way, the receptionists, the nurse, the Drs, they were all very pleasant to be around.
I was seen by staff and dictors right on time. Scheduling staff worked with sensitivity. Doctor responded to questions with professional interest and creativity.
every experience is a great experience, their staff is the best around
We had a minimal wait for check in, testing and to see the physician. Dr. Pihlblad provided great information, answered our questions and gave good advice on how to relieve any symptoms that may crop up in the future.
the doctor and techs were fine.but I had to wait 2 hours past my appointment time to see him. no explanation was given nor option to reschedule at another time.
Excellent bed-side manner. Very pleased with this doctor and highly recommended.
I think he is a great doctor for kids.
this was my first visit with this dr. I was very pleased with his manner and knowledge.
He spent plenty of time discussing potential surgical risk/benefits with me.
very kind let me come to my appt after i was late 15 min
da phlibad was a great doctor. he looked into previous surgeries that iv had on mu eyes. he used this to give me the best outcome and remove scar tissue in my eyes. i will 100% recomend him. very friendly, polite and spoke 2 me in words that where laymen terms - which was easy 2 understand
Great personality, very professional
Very well visit. All issues we're addressed
