Valerie Fonarev joined the Program for Neurodevelopment in Rare Disorders team as a nurse in June 2017. Valerie has a bachelor's degree in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master's Degree of Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Carlow University. Her nursing journey began at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh on Hematology/Oncology/Bone marrow transplant unit where she worked as a professional staff nurse until she joined the NDRD team. Valerie's experience includes caring for patients with rare neurodegenerative disorders undergoing bone marrow transplant.
