The Doctor rushed in, barely examined her spine or standing position. Looked at the x-ray and said there was nothing to be concerned about. Told her to be more active and walked out.
provider was unable to look at my daughters xrays with us in the room. I would have liked to have discussed her xrays with him in the room, but we were unable to do that. After he was unable to open them and left the treatment room to view her x rays, we felt rushed out of the room. I know my daughters problem may not be as "severe" as others seen in this office, but I want to be preventative with her care.
I completely understand the struggle of working in a hospital and the delays. This visit was an extremely difficult since I am almost 8 months pregnant with a 17 month old so when there was a 2 hour delay I was struggling. A notice of wait time would of been appreciated I would of prefer my child to just stay in play area longer then. The doctor seemed very good however I would guess he only spent 5 minutes with her. Maybe he should be given more time for patients.
Excellent!!!! You are in and out quickly. He answers and explains everything.
It was a good experience I always got answers to the questions I asked.
dr ward was great
the entire staff was very nice and respectful
Doctor Ward is an extraordinary doctor. We love him.
No issues with provider.
I understand that we were late but out of our control due to the Transportation Company provided, so it seems as if everything was rushed including the doctor with us. Didnt go over the x-ray results from that day which was very important to us and didnt really go into any detail of anything we wanted answered. Just what the doctor wanted to go over didnt seen to worry about what my son and I concerns were.
I'm concerned that my daughter has 2 fractures in her left arm. At the follow up appointment with Dr. Ward, he never did x-rays to see if the bones were healing properly. He told her to wear the splint for 2 more weeks and she didn't need to come back for any more follow up appointments.
Dr. Ward was very knowledgeable and I'm glad he examined my child. However, he and his assistant made me feel very stupid for even bringing my child in to see him. I was concerned that my son might have a problem with the curve in his spine and just wanted him screened for problems. The doctor made it seem like I was wasting his time because the curve was only 15% and not 25% or beyond. I had no idea what percent the spine curve was. His attitude was very condescending. Instead, he could have just said "Good news, the curve in your son's spine is within what we consider to be normal." Instead, he made me feel like an idiot for even checking on it.
Dr. Ward was very helpful. he reviewed the XRays for my daughters arm and explained her treatment.
Provider was very courteous and showed genuine interest and concern in my current physical state.
he was rude, barely spent any time with us, did not take time to explain anything, barely spent any time examing my child. im seeking a second opinion because i feel disrespected and that my concerns werent even heard or listened to because every time i tried to voice them he cut me off.
very unsatisfied my son and myself was down graded and my some humiliated to the point of crying very unprofessional doctor
I've had good experiences with Dr. Ward for 7 years now. Wouldn't see anyone else.
"too busy to care": Dr. Ward consistently came into the office in a hurried manner. SPent very little time with us, did not invite questions or any sort of interaction that would keep him in the exam room for more than 2 minutes. Had a resident with him on our last appointment, introduced my son as a patient of the nurse practitioner in the office. He had seen her 6 weeks ago because Dr. Ward was on vacation, but Dr. Ward had seen us twice previously, for very small amounts of time.
We have had all very excellent experiences with Dr. Ward and his staff. Dr. Ward saved my son's hip and we are forever grateful! We would highly recommend him to anyone who had a child that needed hip surgery.
Dr. Ward has been great with our daughter. He is direct and to the point, and is able to explain to us any of our questions or concerns.
Dr. Ward did not seem friendly. He made me feel inferior and was not very respectful. ALSO, he seemed unnecessarily rough to my child during his examination. My child screamed out in pain. When given the same examination at her pediatrician office, she was in no discomfort at all.
this dr was extremely RUDE and ruff with my daughter and flat out said she just needed to use her arm. he also made her take her robe off ( she was topless) and he grabbed her arms and was pulling and was EXTREMELY RUDE! I would never ever recommend anyone bring it there child to a man who was as rude as he is!
We are very pleased with Dr. Ward and his staff. They are very nice and caring.
Dr. Ward did my back surgery in 1993 he is the best I wouldn't trust anyone else like I trust him
I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Ward . he was polite. professional and overall a great doctor!
DR. WARD & HIS STAFF ARE WONDERFUL. THEY HAD GONE ABOVE AND BEYOND TO TAKE CARE OF MY SON AND I WOULD AND HAVE SPREAD THE WORD. THANK YOU!!!
Love the dr. he's great with my child.
Excellent experience with this provider!
the appointment was at 2:10 PM. I was seen at 3:15 PM. doctor didn't even look at the child. he looked at the xray report on computer and said no thing is wrong in the report. didn't take time and effort to ask the reason for the visit and concerns I have.
loved getting an appointment promptly
Waited a long time for the appointment that lasted 5 minutes.
Dr. Ward was very helpful in our situation. Explained everything that he was going to do for surgery. All the staff was very helpful and understanding.
I don't think the doctor had the best bedside manner. He seemed disconcerted with my daughters complaints as he was a surgeon and her injury was not surgery related although we did not know he was a surgeon or that she have needed surgery. She was referred to him by our PCP for a possible fracture. maybe wrong choice by pcp.
This was our first appointment with him and I feel that he was dismissive. we had been told by a previous Dr. that our child had scoliosis and Ward told us we didn't, which was great, but the manner that he did it in was dismissive and rude, almost accusatory as if I had made a big deal about something she didn't have. not good bedside manner.
Dr. Ward was excellent as always. We waited 1 hour past our appointment to be called back to the exam room. Every other visit we had with this office, we were called back within 10 minutes of our appointment.
Dr. Ward did an excellent job on my child's surgery and follow-up care. I would highly recommend him.
I am always pleased with dr Ward's visits.
it was fine
The nurse and physician were extremely helpful. They explained things in terms that were easy to understand, spoke directly to my child, and took the time needed
I have heard stories about horrific, condescending doctors and I always thought those were exaggerations, until this appointment with Dr. Ward. He was rude and showed no respect for patient or parent, once in the room after waiting 45 minutes. He never introduced himself.
my daughter broke her wrist and we wanted to get a waterproof cast. when I was on the phone making the appointment, I asked the woman on the phone what exactly I had to bring with me. she told me nothing, that they would measure her arm and I'd be able to purchase the waterproof cast downstairs at the pharmacy. my boyfriend and my daugher' father took her to the appointment and they said the doctor told them they had to have the waterproof cast with them. they also said that he did not take any time to answer questions that I gave them to ask and was in and out within five minutes.
he was wonderful. he was very confident in his assurance that my daughter had no issues.
I understand my sons appointment was just an annual check up for his scoliosis, but the amount of time I waited to see the Dr in the room was unacceptable. I got to the hospital early, probably 11:30 for an 11:50 appointment. The Dr didn't walk in until 12:52! Had he not come in until 1:00 I would've left and found a different specialist. Oh, and I'll add, he was only in our room for 6 MINUTES!!!!! I had to waitthat whole time with 3 kids.
We have a 2.5 hour drive to see Dr ward ended up being stuck in traffic was 30 minutes late for appointment was takin in with no problems
we waited over and hour after our appointment time.
The doctor was good but the office doesn't have an arm sling to fit a 3 year old. An orthopedic office at children's should accommodate all sizes of children.
Dr.Ward is very kind and explains things well.
the physician seems to always be over booked, we the patient request you to give him a break so he can provide the care without being stressed out himself. 10 minutes is not enough time to give a provider to answer questions and do everything he needs done for my daughter's care. we expect upmc to help physicians provide excellent care by enabling them rather than rushing them .
dr ward was great all around
Dr Ward always gives the best care to my son and always listens to all our concerns and takes extra time to explain everything.
awesome experience. I would recommend dr ward and the spine clinic
we go every yr to see the doctor and i feel like every yr we get told something different. my family was told when my son was done growing a surgery would be done to fix his hip now at his last appt he said not till he is 30.
I really appreciated that Dr. Ward spoke to us with no condescension. He treated us as capable of understanding despite not having a medical background.
Dr. Ward is definitely efficient, but was only in the room for about 3-4 minutes with us. While he was very direct, I felt like he was rushed.
I trust Dr. Ward with our baby girl. That's a great recommendation.
Dr Ward,he is truly the best,so helpful, answers all our question,he is the best
Dr. Ward is always friendly and explains the results of my daughter's x-rays in a way that is easy to understand. He always takes time to answer questions and discuss concerns.
Dr Ward and his staff provided excellent care for my child. I would recommend him to anyone needing his type of care. I wouldn't take my children to any other doctor for their injuries. I cannot thank him and his staff enough for their excellent care.
Probably one of the best doctors I have ever taken one of my children. The entire staff was excellent including the women at the front desk. All made my son very comfortable with all that he was going through with his broken leg.
Dr Ward was patient and kind in listening to our son's concerns and was able to see beyond just his musculoskeletal symptoms to address the whole person (overall physical and emotional well-being). We appreciate Dr Ward's compassion and understanding.
we love Dr Ward!
Dr.Ward explained the medical condition of our child clearly and we are happy with his treatment
I truly felt he gave this case allot of thought as to what treatment would be best. I feel confident in his decision to treat with the plan laid out.
I have a great deal of experience with Dr.Ward on many levels. I can honestly say he is very consistent in his lack of compassion, rudeness and care of each individual patient. He lacks the ability to understand individual situations and continues to focus on past experiences which are irrelevant to the current situation. I know he is a excellent surgeon but I would never recommend him to anyone. He is not approachable or not kind and simply has been mean to my child and I have many times seen him mean to other children and families. I appreciate some of his direct comments but he approaches from a tunneled perspective and doesn't take into consideration the overall well being of the family as a whole. I definitely think he needs to review the emotional child development stages of growth. I wish my comments here would make some type of impact but I know they will not and if anyone has the backbone to share with Dr. Ward, he simply will not care. I challenge him to show me otherwise.
We contacted Dr. Ward to have our daughter looked at again for back pain she has been experiencing due to scoliosis. We were concerned because she hadn't complained of pain like this in the past, and were worried there may be additional issues causing it. Dr. Ward immediately went into a discussion of what wasn't wrong with her back, and kept the focus on the slight progression he was seeing from 2 years ago, and suggested PT as an assist. He was very professional, yet kept his focus on our daughter and repeated himself several times to make sure we all understood what he was suggesting. He made us feel quite comfortable and at ease with the situation.
I was not at all impressed with the doctors bedside manner. the first question he asked when he walked in the room was "who sent you here?" I wasn't sure what he was asking... his PCP sent him! Our son is very active in sports and lifting. We recognized poor posture, winged scapula and a huge difference in the height of his shoulders. As a parent of a 15 year old young man, who has never dealt with scoliosis, I was in need of some answers as our concern is his long term condition. Maybe a 14* curve is not an issue for Dr Ward who has seen and treated this condition for years, however I was trying to ask questions to learn about the condition and he cut me off several times with very little concern for my thoughts. "Just ignore it," is what he said! "Nobody would recognize it if they weren't looking for it." WRONG! If I didn't recognize it why would I have him there for a visit? I am not happy with the outcome. Maybe his condition doesn't warrant treatment BUT he didn't have to make us feel like we were stupid for being there. We drove 2 hours for the assessment and were treated like that? I am seeking therapy for his winged scapula and have been encouraged to seek a second opinion. It will be nice to speak to a doctor about his condition that cares and is mindful of our concerns! We would like to know what he may face in the future Thanks
the staff were wonderful. I felt the doctor was not thorough at all quite rude and not concerned at all with her pain and the fact that I was worried that she may need surgery he was in an extreme rush and basically shoved us out of the room as i was asking questions he was walking away from me out of the room. very unprofessional.
Dr. Ward was excellent. He worked well with my daughter. I would highly recommend him.
We have been happy with our provider.
this visit was so brief. I leftwbith kore questions than answers. the dr spent about one minute talking to us, and was very abrupt and said the problem we were being seen for didn't exist. I felt so rushed and didn't feel comfortable or able to ask any questions to get an understanding on how he was apparently misdiagnosed in the Er. thankfully we have to follow up with another dr next week and hopefully they can take a few more minutes to explain things to us.
Dr Ward is very straight forward. We appreciate his expertise with our sons injury.
Dr. Ward has always been amazing with our daughter. He is the reason she is able to have a normal life and has had the opportunity to fall in love with volleyball and track. He was a blessing for our family.
He answered questions about her scoliosis and spine. I had questions about pain that he said its muscular but did not elaborate. I had a couple other questions that I did not get to ask.
I can not say enough good things about Dr. Ward. He is a wonderful clinician and caregiver. He is thorough and thoughtful. And efficient - the best run department in the hospital.
We have full trust and faith in Dr Ward and his office. They have always been amazing when treating both of my boys. I am very thankful for them.
needed to comment about Dr. WARD: we have never seen him before, and saw him for a broken toe follow-up visit from the emergency room. When he spoke with me and my child, he was able to discern that she was actually doing better than she reported, was able to speak with her kindly and patiently, was able to motivate her to walk on the foot more, encouraged us that she was going to be ok. he seemed able to discern and appropriately react to the fact that my child is overly sensitive without hurting her feelings at all. VERY impressed!
We waited over an HOUR and a Half. We then spent 15 minutes in back. Finally the doctor and nurse came in and spent 15 minutes with us. We were told it was too late to do anything and to come back in 6 months to see if he got any better. But we dont know how to prevent him from getting any worse.
We were very impressed with Dr. Ward's willingness to answer all our quiestiob and concerns in detail and in a way that we can understand. He made sure we knew, leaving that appointment, what the implications were for electing various treatment options. He gave us complete information and made us feel informed about our options and not pressured into a certain direction. We felt pressured into electing surgery for scoliosis before and although Dr. Ward is himself a surgeon, he presented surgery as only one of the options and gave us the reasons why we would go that route. that was very reassuring for us and we will continue to see Dr. Ward from now on.
everyone was very knowledgeable and eextremely personable
Provider was excellent.
dr ward was very nice and professional and he paid attention to my child.
my daughter has been a patient of Dr Ward for the past 4 years, and in that time Dr Ward has been exceptional with my daughter in all aspects.
the doctor seemed puzzled why we were there even though the ER had us follow up with him.
I planned to write a letter about Dr. Ward to UPMC because I was so unhappy with the visit, so I am grateful for the opportunity to provide feedback. I felt that Dr. Ward came into the appointment with the expectation that I am an overly cautious, insistent parent who would be asking for every possible intervention and test imaginable. In short, I felt that he approached me *expecting* a fight. I experienced him as combative and dismissive, even condescending--and from the moment he walked into the examination room. In point of fact, I appreciated that Dr. Ward has a low-intervention "wait and see" approach, but before assuming that I would reject or question this approach, he might have taken an opportunity to encounter me as an intelligent person, who is quite open and willing to learning from a medical professional. On top of this, Dr. Ward did not greet my child, and he barely greeted me. While my child is only 14 months old, my expectation is that he be treated as a patient and a person. I affirm the dignity of others when I encounter them, by saying hello to them, by giving them a moment to meet my eye and nod or smile, or respond in some simple way. I expect others to do that to me and to my children PARTICULARLY when the child is a patient a subject of probes, testing, and the like. I left the appointment feeling upset, discounted, and --indeed-- hurt by his attitude. While I appreciate Dr. Ward's time and expertise, he made it clear that I was a bother to him and impinging on his time.
Provider had a poor attitude. Even on the phone to book the procedure, he was very rude to the scheduler for the operating room. He also seemed annoyed with us when we asked questions.
The doctor could allow a little more time for asking questions. But overall I am extremely pleased at how well my child's surgery and healing went.
Provider was excellent and we will continue to go back. Our baby girl got two cast on her legs for club feet, with the Dr. she didn't even whimper or cry which shows he knows what he is doing in this medical practice field.
Dr. Ward is one of best doctors I ever met. I would definitely recommend Dr. Ward to anyone.
Our interactions with Dr. Ward and staff were pleasant. Dr. Ward is friendly and doesn't rush through a visit.
I felt the Dr Ward did not have a good bedside manner and was unprofessional
Dr. Ward was a very thorough, professional, and knowledgeable doctor.
excellent as usual
Dr. Ward has been an excellent MD and surgeon and receptive to all questions that we have had.
short and clear explanations, ...
He didn't listen to my concerns about her issues with losing the ability to walk after she felt pain in her back and legs. I had to repeat the information and the intern and nurse had to repeat inform to him.
Dr Ward is great
I waited nearly 90 minutes to meet the doctor for a scheduled appointment. This seemed unreasonable. The appointment lasted 5 minutes.
Dr Ward is one of the best providers we have ever felt with at childrens he is a great man and know his field he saved my daughters leg years ago and she is no a track star thanks to this man
great and quick
Love Dr. Ward and his entire staff.
Dr. Ward listened to us about our dayghter's problem, he was well-informed about her history and was incisive in his feedback
The visit went ok just glad my son did not need a cask the Dr. was good at his job
The doctor came in, didn't directly speak to me (only spoke to the intern with him), answered one question and was out within minute. I waited 40 minutes in the exam room with my 2 year old.
Dr.Ward rushed in the room, and never took time to introduce himself. Sat down halfway on the seat asking us questions very abruptly. Walked out of the room twice mid-sentence to talk on his cell phone. Never washed his hands before examing my daughter! He did not even explain things to her in a kid friendly manner or speak with her. Isn't that part of being a pediatric doctor to be great with communicating with kids? He just seemed very "matter of fact" with no interest in our concerns. Very disappointed with his bedside manner!
Horrible bedside manner. He did not seem to care what my child was going through. I remembered that I had seen him in the past with my oldest child, he told her that there was nothing wrong. We switched providers and yes.....she did indeed have a completely torn labrum. I feel we may be doing the same again. This is unfortunate for the children and the reputation of the hospital!
I just felt that my daughters finger break was downplayed. She is not even 2 yet and I felt that I wasn't listened to. They told me to tape her fingers for two weeks but I'm lucky if I can get her to let me do that at all.
very pleased with overall experience
Dr. Ward is excellent. He is in the room within a couple minutes of us getting placed. He explains everything so we understand.
Dr. Ward did not listen to our concerns. He was abrupt and dismissive even when my daughter expressed that she felt there was something wrong. At her last visit, 6 months ago, he stated that she was done growing and that her condition, being the curvature of her spine, would not progress. He was wrong on both accounts and did not even acknowledge such, he simply stated that he was sure she wouldn't grow or progress anymore and that we were to return in 9 months to be discharged. The state of her condition now is worse than when we first went to Dr.Ward for treatment and he has proceeded to do nothing about it. We will be seeking a second opinion.
Dr Ward was able to explain the often uncertain nature of adolescent back pain. We appreciate that he wanted to get additional imaging to rule out a more serious injury before clearing our son to return to sports, etc. His assessment and recommendations made sense to all of us.
staff were very accommodating and knowledgeable.
Dr. Ward was great with my son and thorough. He answered all of our questions and provided clear information and direction of what to expect moving ahead.
Dr. Ward performed my fusion many years ago. He answered all of my questions/concerns during my appointment.
I had questions. I tried to ask. The dr was not interested in answering my questions. One question in particular was going to be to ask if he needs some sort of vitamin or mineral to help him, because my son broke his other wrist last August, but he never gave me the opportunity. He cut me iff before I could even finish my question by saying its football; people get rolled on. I think if this dr doesn't want to answer parent's questions, maybe he shouldn't be in pediatric orthopedics. I think it would go far for this dr to realize when he walks into a room the patient in that room is the most important patient to everyone in that room and he should feel the same. Thank you.
I love Dr. Ward! Because of him and the outcome of my spinal surgery 6 years ago I can do everything I love doing!
We appreciate the professionalism of Lauren's doctor and the staff. we never have to wait for a long period of time and the staff is always courteous.
great visit with doctor, resident and nurse. scheduling clerk was pretty abrupt with answers to our scheduling questions; somewhat harsh.
Dr. Ward was great with my son.
Dr. Ward is a very caring doctor. He took the time to listen to our concerns and addressed them. I definitely recommend him to family and friends.
I am satisfied with the Service.
He didn't know the reason behind the visit or her medical history. When I tried to explain it he wasn't listening and just seemed like he had somewhere else to be. Rushed out of the room after we waited over an hour to see him and drove 2 hrs just to get to the appointment.
He did not answer the questions we had in office, he walked out of the room and said that our child was fine and our PCP was over cautious. his nurse and staffing at the front desk were wonderful, him, his bedside manner could be a little better especially with a two month old baby. he seems very knowledgeable but is not the nicest provider my family and I have met. he told us he disagreed with us being there as our child was fine, if our PCP thought everything was fine they never would have sent us to your facility.
Dr. Ward is known to be a spectacular surgeon and this is the only reason I continue to have my daughter see him. He has a terrible bed-side manner and does not listen to my concerns or bother to answer my questions. He also does not seem to be keeping up with the most recent advances in bracing for scoliosis (really, still recommending the Charleston brace???).
we were kept waiting an hour before going into the clinic and no-one told us the doctor was in surgery. I had to ask what was going on. once back in the room we waited another 20 minutes. I made an effort to be ontime but nobody cared.
He was behind for an emergency-we were perfectly happy to wait!
Dr was very fast, got to the point.
Always late for appointments and spends very little time with us during the appointment , I know he is busy but almost an hr late everytime we go is a bit ridiculous. Appointment scheduled for 9:40 am Post op appointment , didn't even go back into a room until well after 10
Dr. Ward and his staff are very professional and courteous. I would recommend him to everyone.
dr Ward was a huge blessing to us. he is amazing at what he does.
I wish Dr Ward would not take phone calls during my visit.
Dr. Ward's communication with my daughter and with me has improved a great deal. I appreciate this change.
Dr. Ward and his staff took wonderful care of my son and made him feel very comfortable.
My Child and I felt very disregarded by Dr.Ward. my child was in severe pain and it was not acknowledge. Dr.Ward staff appeared to be on edge when he was around and it was very uncomfortable. My son ended up in the emergency room at Children's 6 hours later. We never met any of the other doctors in his practice but we will be going to them for follow up appointments. I can not believe this man works with children. Very disappointed in Children's Hospital and we would go to another provided, except no other orthopedic surgeon will see my child because they did not do the work. Very frustrating. I hope my child never breaks a bone again, but if he does we will never go back to children's ortho department. Since Dr.Ward is the department chair he controls all of the department.
Dr. Ward and his staff have provided excellent care for our daughter. She has been seeing him for 11 years due to scoliosis and we are so grateful to him.
The doctor had a rude attitude
This was an orthopedic follow up appt 1week after her bicycle accident resulting in a broken great toe. We were provided care by the local EMS as the Urgent Care Center had closed & her injuries did not warrant an ER visit. We we're out of state on vacation during the incident. My main concern was based on my daughter's history whereas it took about 7 months for her Left foot fracture to heal 2 1/2 years ago & we were very pleased with her care at Children's Hospital during that incident therefore we immediately called to set up her follow up appt again at Children's Hospital.
I am very pleased with the care provided by Dr Ward. I have no complaints.
Love Dr. Ward! He has taken care of my three girls for scoliosis and all had spinal fusions. Would definitely recommend him to anyone who was diagnosed with scoliosis. My girls are very comfortable with him and they all feel the same way I do.
everyone was good!
He is an excellent doctor and we hope that our child will have him for a long time.
nothing we just had to wait extra long
luv dr Ward. he's the best. luv sue his manager. she's very helpful and remembered us from 24 years ago
waited 45 minutes in exam room. Dr spent a total of 45 seconds or less talking to my son and I. He seemed rushed and spoke in a condescending tone.
We were very surprised to get in and out of the office so fast. The Doctor and staff is always kind and prompt. The facility is clean and we have no complaints.
I appreciated that the visit was relatively quick.
He was very patient even though my daughter kept trying to talk over him. He listened to us as parents.
I was EXTREMELY disappointed in our visit with Dr Ward. He was running almost an hour behind schedule. I had taken off work early and gotten my daughter out early from school to get to this appointment. Dr Ward had no respect of our time. He fly in the room very quickly and almost seemed annoyed that we were there. He was very short with us and didn't even really take time to try to figure out what was wrong with my daughter.
Dr. Ward has been great to me and my daughter. Not only does she him or her scoliosis but he also took care of her when she broke her ankle and need surgery to repair it.
Dr. Ward was exemplary! He was diligent in listening to my daughter's concerns about her back, his questions were precise and incisive and he was well prepared. He explained her condition and the treatment method needed in a way which was helpful and accurate. Highly competent. Knowledgeable practitioner.
he seemed knowledgeable but a bit smug in spots.
best appointment we have had at CHP in terms of wait time. Dr. Ward was excellent and answered all of our questions.
He was very knowledgable however he didn't seem to care about how worried we as parents were. He explained quickly and shortly that we had nothing to worry about and then left.
Timothy Ward provided excellent care
DR WARD WAS VERY ATTENTIVE TO MY CHILD'S NEEDS. HE ANSWERED ALL OUR QUESTIONS REGARDING MY CHILD'S CONDITION. I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH THE OUTCOME OF THE VISIT.
Dr Ward was absolutely no help and told me the crippling pain that I've been experiencing probably doesn't have an actual cause and would just go away eventually. I don't have "eventually" as I am in college for dance (which I told him), I need concrete answers and treatment or action taken to find concrete answers. I did not feel listened to and the entire appointment turned out to be a waste of time due to his apathy. I will not be coming back.
Dr Ward was unprofessional, rushed and uncaring. He didn't think that my daughter's problem should have been referred to him and made it clear to us that we were wasting his time. He was condescending and did not help us at all.
Dr. Ward is excellent. There is no wait time. You get to the room and he is right in. He is very knowledgeable and explains everything.
He seemed biased and short with me regarding questions I had. He had a loud way of speaking and was very terse. Not a friendly person. He was very clear on explaining the diagnosis but rather rude about it.
I think this provider is not open to listening to patients and dismisses questions because he's been practicing so long. I felt extremely rushed and concerns dismissed as no big deal. No offer of ideas for possible pain relief.
does not have good bedside manner, especially with kids.
this apt was a consult on xrays and MRI for my granddaughters back..the Dr was kind and patience and gave us follow up instructions to help her
We are very satisfied with Dr. Tim Ward and would recommend him to anyone experiencing spinal discomfort..
I arrived for my appointment early, and I was waited on within 5 minutes.
One could not expect any more courtesy, patience, or professional expertise from the office staff to the surgeon himself, Dr. Timothy Ward. I felt so relieved about my decision to seek Dr. Timothy Ward's medical opinion regarding my condition. I am blessed to be a patient of such a well respected surgeon.
Always fast and courteous
I have been a patient of Dr Ward's for over 20 years and he is by far the best doctor I have ever seen. He explains things in a way for his patients to understand and always does so in a kind, caring manner.
He was very kind and friendly. My daughter was comfortable with him.
Very good experience. Dr. Ward was informative and helpful.
Dr. Ward had her old films and told us her spine shouldn't change much, if at all, and released her from care. When we pointed out that he wasn't looking at the new films, the nurse brought him back to look at the new ones and he was gracious about that. However, her spine changed what I thought was a significant amount, but he didn't seem concerned. But instead of releasing her as he did after looking at the old films, he'll see her in a year. I'm fine with that.
Dr. Ward seemed knowledgeable. I did feel uneasy because he questioned us like we were wasting his time. I brought my child to Children's do to the advice from a doctor at Frick hospital. He was seen at Frick for a totally unrelated problem. They noticed an anomaly on his x-ray and recommended it be looked at. When it comes to my children I just want to be sure they are well taken care of and if it is recommended they see a specialist I follow thru on that advice. I am not a doctor don't pretend to be and rely on them to keep my children healthy.
very pleasant experience kind and helpful receptionists, nurses, and doctors
Dr. Ward is very professional and caring.
I want to Thank Dr. Ward
He seemed in a hurry, and did not take much time to talk with us.
I like that the Dr. was to the point and talked to my daughter even though she is only 9.
Everything you ask for in a doctor/specialist.
Thank you for your time & expertise
Dr. Ward listened to my concerns and had a very caring bedside manner.
Knowledgeable. Listened to concerns and explained care path forward.
Dr. Ward gave impression I was wasting his time. My child broke her clavicle. Didn't exam her. Looked at old x-ray and told me it would heal on its own.
VERY unprofessional and very uncaring attitude..was an extremely quick visit. I will be disputing the charge for this visit.
Dr Ward is a great surgeon. He did my surgery when I was 13 years old for scoliosis and I have had 3 children with no problems at all and a great life. The only thing I would say is he can be rough around the edges at times which comes off as insensitive or rude.
Very pleased with Dr. Ward before, during and after the surgery.
referred to Dr. Ward from family physician due to abnormal spine xray. very happy with all services. long wait but that wasnt a,problem.
the experience we had was that Dr Ward didn't have a very good bedside manner st all ..he was not compassionate at all with my child fear ..she was visably upset and he said nothing to try and calm her fears at all other then told me to speak to her anistelodgist about her fears of needles ..I understand he does see many children but he needs to take time to at least help calm the fears especially with a teenager that already has anxiety ..
