Hometown: Brasilia, Brazil

College/Medical School: Universidade de Brasilia, Brazil

Residency: Universidade de Sao Paulo, Brazil/Boston Combined Residency Program (Boston Children`s Hospital and Boston Medical Center)

Career/Research Interests: I am interested in autoinflammatory diseases, disease activity measurements and patient reported outcomes.

Hobbies/Interests: I love singing and used to be part of a choir, although I have not been able to join one here in the United States so far. I am also a big fan of board games.

S.O./Married/Kids/Pets: I`m married to a very smart economist who makes sure I don`t mess around with my statistics on my studies. I don`t have a pet yet, but I was able to keep a house plant alive for 1 year (my lovely basil plant Jerry), which was the first step for me to get a dog someday.

Travels/Languages: I am originally from Brazil and my native language is Portuguese. I can communicate fairly well in Spanish (I had a lot of practice in Boston!). I technically did 5 years of French class when I was in high school and early in Medical School. I used to speak it well back then, but I don't really practice it, so it is pretty rusty.

Likes About UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh: I love the environment! Everyone is so nice that it is truly a joy to come to work! I also like that here I have great physician researchers who are leaders in their fields and can be great mentors for research and clinical care.
