All applicants to either the Pediatric Residency Program (categorical), the PALS Residency Program- Pediatric Advocacy-Leadership-Service (primary care), or any of the Combined Pediatric Training Programs at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
We evaluate all applications based on merit regardless of the applicant’s race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, age, sex, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, familial status, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected group status. We prioritize those from applicants who have graduated from medical school in the past 5 years. Applications are accepted and reviewed from Sept. 15 through Dec. 1. Applicants who are selected to interview will be contacted via email. Interviews are conducted late October through early-January.

You will have the opportunity to meet with the program leadership who will share program highlights and basic information regarding the pediatric residency program
You will receive two interviews with our faculty to discuss your experiences, and ask questions about Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. If you have expressed a special area of interest, we will do our best to match you with an appropriate faculty member. One of your interviews will be with a member of the Pediatric Residency Program Leadership
Tour of Hospital - Small Groups
Enjoy a resident led tour of our facilities and time to ask questions about the hospital, residency, and Pittsburgh
Lunch with Residents
Take the opportunity to chat with some of the residents to discover the opportunities that are available to you here at Children's Hospital and in Pittsburgh
Farewell/Question and Answer Session
Finish your day with a relaxing and informational conversation with our program leadership. Feel free to ask any remaining questions regarding the program

Upon your arrival at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, please park in the Mid-Campus Garage with entrances located on both 44th and 45th Street. Enter the hospital and walk down the transformation corridor to the main lobby. Our office staff will be waiting to greet you and provide your interview day material. Please bring your parking ticket with you for validation at the end of the day.
Shuttle service is available from most local hotels the morning of your interview. Please check with your hotel when making your reservations and confirm your transportation needs upon check-in.
