Application and Interview Process

The Child Neurology (CN) and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (NDD) programs have openings for 3 CN positions and 1 NDD position to begin combined training with pediatrics in July 2021 and will start interviewing for these positions beginning in November 2020.  Due to COVID-19, we will be conducting all interviews VIRTUALLY for the 2020-2021 season.

Apply for combined Pediatrics and Child Neurology and/or NDD using ERAS and matches will be made through the NRMP. Applicants only need to apply to the Child Neurology and/or NDD program. A separate application to Pediatrics is NOT necessary. For further information, please visit the ERAS, NRMP, and AAMC sites.

Interview Process

Applicants invited to interview will receive an invitation with instructions to schedule via Thalamus. We are committed to thoroughly reviewing all applications, and thus invitations to interview will be extended no earlier than October 27, 2020.

Once an applicant schedules their CN/NDD interview, they will receive a second invitation via Thalamus to schedule a separate interview with the Pediatrics Residency Program. Applicants must complete an interview with both CN/NDD and with Pediatrics to be considered for matching in our program.

Detailed information for the interview day including links to join virtual sessions and contact information will be distributed as the interview day approaches.

Pre-Interview Checklist for Invited Applicants

Applicants invited to interview will receive instructions through Thalamus to complete a brief pre-interview survey to identify interests and help our program optimize your interview experience as much as possible. Applicants will also be required to complete a HIPAA certification to allow participation in our conferences. An additional email before the interview date will contain links to important information about the program which we recommend reviewing prior to the interview date.

  • Schedule CN/NDD Interview Day
  • Schedule Pediatrics Interview Day (will receive invitation once CN/NDD is scheduled)
  • Complete Pre-Interview Survey
  • Complete HIPAA Certification
  • Review Supplemental Program Information

Interview Dates for the 2020-2021 Season

Interview dates for CN/NDD will occur on select Tuesdays and Fridays during November 2020 through January 2021. Pediatrics interviews will occur on select Mondays and Fridays. We encourage applicants to schedule interviews with both programs in close proximity if possible, as the days are designed to provide complementary information about our combined program. In addition, we will host several virtual CN/NDD Resident Q&A sessions throughout the interview season to allow applicants to meet additional residents, ask questions, and hear about our program outside of their interview day. (These are optional.) Applicants are welcome to sign up for one or more of these sessions before or after their interview dates using Thalamus.

Applicants will also have the opportunity to join a virtual dinner the night before their interview day with the Pediatrics Residency Program as well as meet residents during the Pediatrics interview day itself.
