Every year in the first week of August, kids 8-16 years old with kidney conditions come from all over the region to kick back and enjoy the summer with friends new and old at Western PA Kidney Kamp. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to providing fun, camaraderie and support for kids battling kidney disease.
The setting is the Ligonier Camp and Conference Center in Ligonier, Pennsylvania - the heart of the region’s beautiful Laurel Highlands. Kidney Kamp activities include horseback riding, swimming, tubing, jet skiing, rock climbing, archery, rope courses, and an amusement park. There’s even a dance night.
Nurses are on site at all times, and accommodations are made for the needs of pre-dialysis, dialysis, and transplant patients.
