UPMC Trauma Nursing Symposium: Exploring the Spectrum of Trauma

Trauma Services: 25 Years Saving Lives
At the conclusion of this symposium, the participant will be able to:

  • Discuss the evolution of trauma care and new revolutionary trends in trauma care.
  • Describe common risk factors, routine screening, and prevention for delirium as an essential part of comprehensive nursing care of older adults.
  • Discuss what you need to know when an active shooter is in your hospital or workplace.
  • Describe the screening protocol, diagnosis, and treatment for blunt cerebrovascular injury.
  • State the importance of increasing scene safety in trauma settings through better communication and greater understanding of influential community events and circumstances.
  • Discuss the importance of providing care that addresses the needs of the patient’s family and the trauma team during pediatric resuscitation.
  • Describe the clinical presentation, diagnosis, and treatment of the newest drugs of abuse.

Suggested attendees include physicians, nurses, pre-hospital personnel, social workers, rehabilitation specialists, and others.

The registration fee includes course materials, continental breakfast, refreshments, and lunch.

Cancellations
All cancellations must be in writing and sent to us via U.S. mail or email. Tuition for cancellations postmarkedor date stamped before or on Sept. 20, will be completely refunded. No refunds will be made after Sept. 20. Cancellation requests can be made to Amy Clontz.
