Description of Services
Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC's volunteer community welcomes you!
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Children’s Hospital, the only hospital in western Pennsylvania devoted solely to the care of infants, children and young adults. As a member of our volunteer community, you will be one of our most treasured resources. We know from experience that our volunteers often bring welcome smiles to the faces of our children and their families.
But it is not only the hours of service that we value. Volunteers serve as ambassadors to the community. They understand the important work Children’s is doing and can act as advocates in the community for the hospital and those in our care. Just by spreading the news, volunteers can help create links between Children’s and the many untapped resources in the community that can benefit the hospital and the children it serves.
Who We Are
Children’s Volunteer Services programs support the organization in its mission of patient care, research and education. We are committed to providing qualified, dedicated and compassionate volunteers who understand developmentally appropriate practices and who respond to the changing needs of the hospital, neighborhood locations and community outreach centers.
Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC volunteer opportunities are open to everyone of various qualifications and experiences. Our volunteers come to us with diverse backgrounds and skill sets, all with the common commitment to impacting the hospital experience for our patients and families. Each volunteer has unique talents, and together with the dedicated professionals who work at Children’s, they make up the excellent, caring and compassionate hospital community that it is.
