Children's Express Care
Description of Services
Parents trust Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC for expert pediatric specialty care. Now that same level of expertise is available for minor injuries and illnesses through Children’s Express Care - located in Bethel Park, Lawrenceville, Monroeville, and Wexford.

Evenings and Weekends
Open on evenings and weekends, Express Care features pediatricians and specially trained pediatric experts who are available to treat any child or teen for:
- animal bites
- bronchitis, pneumonia, and asthma attacks
- colds, fever, flu, and other viral illnesses
- cuts, bumps, lacerations, abrasions, and splinters
- ear, throat, and sinus infections
- earaches
- incisions and abscess drainage
- nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and dehydration assessment
- rashes, poison ivy, and allergic reactions
- simple fractures, twists, sprains, strains, and dislocations
- splinting
We also offer x-ray services on site.
No Appointment Necessary, Walk-ins Welcome
Appointments aren’t necessary, and walk-ins are welcome. Also, parking is free. We’re available after work or on weekends when your child or teen needs immediate care. If you need follow-up care, we’ll refer you back to your own pediatrician and provide an update on the outcome of your visit.
Patient Referrals for Emergency or Specialty Care
If a child’s injury or illness requires emergency or specialty care, Children's Express Care patients may be referred to the Emergency Department for check in, or to a Children’s pediatric specialist. If Express Care patients require follow-up care, they will be referred back to their own pediatricians along with an update of the outcome of the visit.
Many Health Insurances Accepted
With most insurances accepted, we get kids home and feeling better, fast.
So, if it’s after hours, be glad you have Children’s.
