Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation Announces New Board Member

Albert J. Neupaver, executive chairman of the board of Wabtec Corporation, has been appointed to the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation Board of Trustees.

Neupaver joined Wabtec Corporation in 2006 as president and chief executive officer, and a member of the company’s Board of Directors. He was named executive chairman on May 14, 2014.

Prior to joining Wabtec, Neupaver spent nine years as president of the Electromechanical Group of AMETEK, Inc., a leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electric motors.

“On behalf of the entire board, we welcome Al to the Foundation and are thrilled to have him bring fresh ideas to help build our future of philanthropy,” said Jay Cleveland, chair, Foundation Board of Trustees. “We are continually wanting to grow and evolve the Foundation to broaden our impact on the well-being of children and we know that Al will bring a new vision to advance that mission.”

A native of Belle Vernon, Pa., Neupaver earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy in 1972 and served as an officer on nuclear submarines from 1972 to 1977. He earned a master’s degree in Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering and Business Administration both from the University of Pittsburgh.
