December 10, 2018

Rachel Petrucelli has been appointed president of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation.

Petrucelli, who served as interim president of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation since April, brings more than 24 years of fundraising experience, leadership, and development strategy to her new role.

The Foundation Board of Trustees conducted a national search that engaged candidates from top tier institutions over the last six months.

“Rachel steps into her new role as president as a respected, experienced, and successful leader with a strong commitment to our organization’s mission. Rachel’s ability to foster a culture of collaboration and excellence has already had a lasting impact on the Foundation and resulted in incredible milestones for UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh,” said Clifford Rowe Jr., chair, Foundation Board of Trustees. “The Board of Trustees looks forward to working with Rachel and is confident that under her strong and capable leadership, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation will continue to excel and advance as Pittsburgh’s charity of choice. “

Petrucelli joined Children’s Foundation in September 2004 and has served in various leadership roles during her 14 years, including director of major gifts and annual giving; senior director of principal gifts; associate vice president, major and principal gifts; vice president of development; and senior vice president of development and chief development officer.

“I’m grateful for this opportunity to continue supporting the tremendous work being done at Children’s Hospital,” said Petrucelli. “Children’s has been a meaningful part of my life for years, and it’s an honor to lead the Foundation’s amazing staff and support the mission of this world-class hospital that provides outstanding pediatric care to thousands of patients each year.”

Prior to joining the Foundation, Petrucelli held various development positions at the University of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Public Theater, and the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.

Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation is the sole fundraising arm of UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, providing financial support for the hospital’s mission of excellence in patient care, teaching, research and advocacy.
