EpiPen Shortage

Check the lot numbers of EpiPens you have to see if they are among those the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has extended the expiration dates of in the wake of a national shortage.

The extension applies to the 0.3mg dose of EpiPen and its authorized generic with expiration dates between April and December 2018. It does not apply to EpiPen Jr.

Families that prefer the Mylan devices but are having trouble finding them can call a special customer service line at 800-796-9526. Mylan distributes the Mylan brand name and the identical Mylan generic EpiPens.

The Division of Allergy and Immunology at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh requires referrals from primary care doctors or other Children’s Hospital specialists.

If you're enrolled in a managed care insurance plan, you may also need approval from both your insurer and doctor.

We must receive all required forms before your child's visit.
