Neonatal Developmental Follow-Up Clinic in Pittsburgh

Is your baby a graduate of the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and at high risk for developmental issues?

The Neonatal Follow-up Clinic at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital may be able to help.

Behavioral health providers integrated into the Neonatal Follow-up clinics provide collaborative care with you and your child’s medical team to provide support and intervention to improve health outcomes.

Our clinic will see your baby if they:

  • Weighed less than 1,500 grams at birth.
  • Were less than 33 weeks gestational age at birth.
  • Have neurologic issues or lung disease.
  • Had exposure to drugs in the womb.

Our child psychologists and developmental specialists provide complete, family-centered follow-up care and support for high-risk infants and toddlers.

Our team routinely assesses your child's development through age 2. This is to make sure your child receives the most appropriate developmental care during this early period.
