Shaping Actions and Responses to Emotions (ShARE) Study

Protocol Description

Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh are recruiting teens 12-15 and their parent/guardian for a study comparing two different kinds of therapy skills for feelings of depression.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 12-15 years of age
  • Feeling sad, down, blue, irritated, bored, unmotivated, or tired

Requirements

Study participation includes an initial study visit in-person and remotely to complete interviews, questionnaires, and computer-based activities that measure different types of behavior. Four weekly visits will be scheduled to learn a therapy skill for managing thoughts and behaviors followed by a remote follow up visit one month later.

Compensation

Yes — Participants will receive up to $240 (+ up to $50 in reimbursement for transportation costs).
