The eighth annual DVE Rocks for Children’s Radiothon raised a record amount of $653,000 for Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation from nearly 4,000 donors. The radiothon was broadcast live from the Eat’n Park Atrium at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC Thursday, Sept. 24 through Saturday, Sept. 26.
The 102.5 WDVE on-air personalities, including Randy Baumann & the 'DVE Morning Show, which includes Bill Crawford, Val Porter and Mike Prisuta, as well as Michele Michaels, and Sean McDowell, all broadcast stories of outstanding care and incredible courage from patients, families, and staff live from Children’s Hospital.
As we celebrate the 125th Anniversary of Children’s Hospital, we are so grateful for community partners like 102.5 WDVE, who have been loyal and supportive of our mission throughout the years,” said Greg Barrett, president, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation. “We are grateful to the listeners and to the entire DVE team for their passion and commitment to surpass last year’s number. They represent the sense of community that has made Children’s what it is for 125 years.
The three-day radiothon featured live performances from Scott Blasey of The Clarks, and local musicians, Andre Costello, and Paul Luc. Also, special guests throughout the three days included Pittsburgh Steelers players, Arthur Moats and Jarvis Jones. “WDVE’s Rocks for Children’s Radiothon continues to grow in its ability to raise money to improve the Pittsburgh community and helping its families,” said Tim McAleer, Market President for iHeart Media Inc.
