Complex Care Center

The Complex Care Center at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh offers primary care and care coordination for kids with complex medical needs.

Our mission is to be a central point of contact for families who use many services at Children’s.

How We Can Help Your Child's Complex Health Care Needs

Our team works with you, your child, and your child’s doctors to:

  • Enhance care coordination.
  • Find helpful community resources.
  • Improve the overall quality of life for your child, you, and your whole family.

The Complex Care Center provides:

  • Basic primary care.
  • Growth and development assessments.
  • Vaccines.
  • Sick visits and urgent care.
  • Help after discharge from the hospital.
  • Help arranging care with doctors at UPMC Children’s.

Complex Care Center Referral Requirements

You need your pediatrician, specialist, or therapist to refer your child to the Complex Care Center.

We see children who:

  • Are currently under the care of at least three subspecialties.
  • Depend on technology.
  • Have three or more chronic health problems.
