We see children and young adults at Children’s Hospital's main campus in Lawrenceville and Children’s Pine Center in Wexford, Pa.,(Mondays only).

Children's Chronic Pain Team

Our team consists of:

  • A pediatric anesthesiologist
  • Nurse practitioners and RN coordinator
  • A physical therapist
  • A social worker 
  • A behavioral health provider

Your Child's First Visit for Chronic Pain Treatment

Effectively treating pediatric chronic pain requires thorough, often time-consuming, exams. You can expect your child's first visit to last about 90 minutes.

The first visit includes assessments by each member of the team. They will then discuss and design a plan of care that meets your child's exact needs.

Treatments for chronic pain

Treatments may include:

  • Trigger point shots
  • Nerve blocks
  • Medicine
  • Physical therapy
  • Biofeedback
  • Relaxation and breathing techniques
  • Acupuncture

Follow-up visits will depend on your child's care plan. You may not need to see all members of the pain team at each visit.
