Pediatric Thyroid Center

A Patient at the Pediatric Thyroid CenterThyroid problems affect nearly 60 million Americans, including children and teens, and in recent years, the likelihood of being diagnosed with thyroid cancer has risen significantly. In light of this trend, UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh has established a dedicated Pediatric Thyroid Center, where a multidisciplinary team of experts in pediatric endocrinology, oncology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, pathology, and radiology, as well as child life specialists, come together to diagnose and treat all types of thyroid conditions, from nodules to thyroid cancer.

Patients at the Pediatric Thyroid Center experience an integrated team approach for the evaluation and treatment of thyroid disease and related conditions, and advanced imaging and molecular diagnostic studies are used to help clinicians develop innovative treatment plans.
