Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine

Pediatric physiatrists are physicians who specialize in the rehabilitation care and medical management of children with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neuromuscular disorders, and an array of musculoskeletal conditions. Our physicians understand how cognitive and physical disabilities affect growth and development. They incorporate this knowledge to work with patients and their families to develop and direct individualized treatment programs. At UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh our pediatric physiatrists see patients in the outpatient setting and in the inpatient setting on a consultative basis. Our physicians and nurse practitioner also participate on the Benedum Trauma team.
