Carter Mason, MS

Research Associate

After receiving his bachelor's degree from Grinnell College in 2008, Carter Mason spent two years as a research assistant at Ohio State University, studying novel mechanisms of RNA regulation in Schizosaccharomyces pombe. He then studied viroid-host interaction in the molecular genetics laboratory of Biao Ding, PhD, graduating with his master's degree in 2013. After spending a few years in industry, he returned to academia and joined the Ghazi Laboratory as a laboratory technician in 2016.

When not in the laboratory, Carter is an avid tabletop gamer. He is also a practitioner of martial arts, holding a brown belt in Kenpo Karate.
