The Child and Family Counseling Center (CFCC) provides evidence based behavioral health treatments to children/adolescents and their families.
We work closely with community pediatricians, medical specialties, schools, and families to provide family-centered behavioral treatments, teaching children and families skills to minimize distress and maximize wellness.
Treatment begins with meeting one of our Behavioral Health therapists for an evaluation that will result in recommendations about ongoing treatment. Patients who are best served by our providers will be referred to psychiatry as appropriate.

When behavioral therapies do not reduce symptoms, we work closely with psychiatrists to determine whether medications or therapeutic interventions might be helpful.
To begin therapy services, a referral is not needed from your primary care physician. Simply call our intake staff at 724-933-3910 or toll free at 1-877-933-3910 to discuss if scheduling an appointment is appropriate.
The CFCC clinicians are credentialed by most insurance companies. Authorization from your insurance company may be required. Please call our intake staff for more information.
CFCC therapists and psychiatrists see patients at many UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh locations throughout the region, including the main hospital in Lawrenceville, Children's Pine Center in Wexford, Children's South in South Fayette, the Children's Hospital Specialty Care Center Erie, and the Family Care Connection Centers located in Lawrenceville, Rankin, Braddock, Mt. Oliver, and Turtle Creek. Patients of certain UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics practices can be seen in their UPMC CCP office. Children's TiPS is a program that is available to support pediatric and family practitioners in Western Pennsylvania. TiPS is a new HealthChoices program designed to increase the availability of child psychiatry consultation teams to primary care physicians (PCPs). The program provides resources to the PCPs who desire immediate consultative advice for children with behavioral health concerns, up to age 21.
