Lalit Chordia, PhD, is the founder and CEO of Thar Process Inc.; Thar Technologies Pvt. Ltd., India; Thar Geothermal, Inc.; and Thar Energy, LLC. Dr. Chordia received his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the India Institute of Technology and his doctorate in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He was named the 2017 EY Entrepreneur of the Year. Other accolades include being named a two-time awardee of the National Institute for Standards and Technology, Advanced Technology Program; the National Small Business Exporter of the Year in 2002, the Carnegie Science Entrepreneur Award recipient in 2010, and the Governor Ed Rendell Green Energy Project Awardee for Geothermal Air Conditioning in 2010. He has also published 18 research studies or white papers in technical journals. A member of the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation Board of Trustees, Dr. Chordia and his wife, Supriya, live in Pittsburgh and have three adult sons.
