Arthritis Champions Scholarship
The Arthritis Champions Scholarship is awarded annually to deserving students with arthritis or a related rheumatic disease who impact the arthritis community, serving as positive role models and leaders, and by living their best life, while empowering others to do the same. The scholarship is generously funded by Dr. & Mrs. Walter J. Winterhoff and Dr. Smriti Bardhan.

Western PA Rheumatology and Orthopedic Society Spring Meeting (WPROS)

The rheumatologist-led education program is designed to not just help patients better understand RA and treatment options; but more importantly, it provides a common set of tools and language to improve communication between patients and healthcare providers. The program is open to adults with RA and parents of children with JA.
Walk to Cure Arthritis

Walk to Cure Arthritis is our annual community fundraising 5K walk event. The funds raised from the 5K support our nonprofit mission and research aimed at finding a cure for arthritis, America’s leading cause of disability. The Park is ADA accessible and dog friendly. Activities include an outdoor crafter and vendor area, a lifestyle and wellness expo, and family activities like a dunk tank, a fire truck, local mascots, live music, food trucks and an arthritis ‘warrior’ experience among others.
JA Family Fun Day at Walk to Cure Arthritis

These programs are a great experience for the child with JA, their parents or caregivers and siblings. The greatest benefit of these programs is getting to meet others who are dealing with similar issues, who share some of the same feelings, experiences and concerns. It’s a place to exchange ideas, give and receive encouragement, make new friends and know you’re not alone.

Camp JRA (Juveniles Reaching Achievement) is a residential camp for kids with JA/JIA ages 8 – 18. At Camp JRA, campers learn to overcome obstacles as they grow in their confidence and capabilities. Recreational programs offer a supportive, nurturing, fully accessible environment. Campers make lifelong friends with other children who experience the challenges of growing up with arthritis.
Juvenile Arthritis National Conference
July 23- 26
The conference focuses on health, wellness and fun for young people affected by juvenile arthritis, lupus, myositis, ankylosing spondylitis and other childhood rheumatic diseases. Families share similar challenges, share stories, and learn about the latest treatments and discover strategies to make every day better. Families will meet top experts in pediatric rheumatology and related health care, scientific research, educational rights, psychology, access to care and more. JA conference sessions are tailored for new and returning attendees.
Live Yes! Arthritis Expo
An educational forum for adults with any type of arthritis featuring local health care providers speaking on topics related to current trends and treatments in arthritis care. Vendors offer information, giveaways and resources. Lunch and prizes included.
Bone Bash Gala

The annual Bone Bash is a Halloween-themed event that raises funds for the Arthritis Foundation. This costumed affair typically includes spooky decorations, costume contests, a silent auction and/or live auction, and frightfully fun entertainment, including music, games and much more!
Jingle Bell Run

Pittsburgh’s North Shore
The Jingle Bell Run is one of the nation’s most incredible themed events. This family-friendly fundraising event is a fun and festive 5K race that benefits arthritis research.
