The IBD Center at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh takes a team approach to give your child custom, state-of-the-art care.

Our goal is to help kids with IBD control their symptoms so they can live their best life.

The IBD Center is part of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at UPMC Children's Hospital. We're ranked in the top 10 for children's GI disease and GI surgery programs by U.S. News & World Report.

IBD Center Services at UPMC Children's Hospital

At the IBD Center, your child will have access to the latest care.

Our services include:

  • Testing, such as upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and capsule endoscopy.
  • Nutrition, including diet and both IV and tube feeding.
  • Imaging, such as CT scans, MRI, and interventional radiology.
  • GI surgery, including minimally invasive techniques.

Your Child's IBD Care Team

Our combined IBD team includes:

  • Digestive health doctors and nurses who focus on treating IBD in children.
  • Diet and nutrition experts.
  • Mental health experts who help children and families deal with the mental impact of IBD.
  • Health educators and social workers who help parents, schools, and others learn more about IBD.
  • Surgeons who focus on minimally invasive GI surgery for kids.

When needed, we work with other experts at UPMC Children's to give your child complete care for health issues like:

  • Allergies and diseases of the immune system.
  • Rheumatic diseases.
  • Skin, hair, and nail problems.
