UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh established one of the nation’s first multidisciplinary, comprehensive centers for intestinal care and rehabilitation to care for patients diagnosed with complicated intestinal disorders. The option of intestinal transplantation has increasingly become a life-saving therapy for children with intestinal diseases such as gastroschisis and volvulus.
