Pediatric Primary Care Virtual Visits

We now offer virtual visits with UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh's Primary Care Center providers. To schedule a virtual visit, simply call your primary care office and request a virtual visit.

To participate in a virtual visit, you will need the following:

  • Access to a personal computer, tablet, or smartphone with a WiFi connection, camera, and microphone.
  • An email address or a cell phone number, so our scheduler can send you additional information regarding your visit.

We currently offer virtual visits through MyUPMC. Prior to your visit, download the necessary software for your device to help prevent delays.

  1. Add your child to your MyUPMC account by logging into and following the instructions below.
    • To add your child, you will need to log into MyUPMC on a browser (not through the myUPMC app).
    • If you do not already have your own MyUPMC account, follow the instructions below, or call the MyUPMC support line 1-866-884-8579.
    • If your child is a patient at our Primary Care Center, you can have access to MyUPMC to manage your child’s health no matter where you go for care or what insurance you have.
  2. Download the MyUPMC app on an Apple device or Android device.
  3. Before your visit, review the resources below on what to expect and how to test your device ahead of your visit.
  4. At your scheduled appointment time, log onto the MyUPMC app to start your visit.
    • Log into your account on the MyUPMC app and select “Appointments.”
    • Click on your video visit under “Next 7 Days” appointments and select “Begin Visit.”
      • The “Begin Visit” button will not appear until 30 minutes before your appointment.
      • You will be in a virtual waiting room until your provider starts the call. Please know that just like a regular visit, your provider may not join right away, but they have been notified that you are waiting. They will join your video visit as soon as they can.
