College students are an integral part of our volunteer base. Volunteers provide support to patients, families, and staff in a variety of roles including:
We have a limited number of college spots available (especially for bedside/inpatient units and within our playrooms).
You will be interviewed within a designated timeframe. Decisions for acceptance will be made based on the number of available spots.
All college students have the same requirements and application steps of the Hospital Volunteer Program, with the exception of the weekly year-round commitment requirement.
We offer distinct schedules for college volunteers.
You should be available to volunteer weekly during the same day and time. For example, every Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Limited evening and weekend positions available.
There is minimum commitment of 22 weeks and 100 hours for Academic Year College Volunteers.
Two academic year options include:
Your schedule may change at the start of the academic semester to accommodate your class schedule.
There is a minimum commitment of 12 weeks and 75 hours for summer-only college volunteers.
The program is from May to August.
