Service Project Program

Some of our greatest support comes from community members and groups who volunteer their time outside of the hospital to complete projects to benefit our patients and families.

The Service Project Program is a great opportunity to volunteer for:

  • Schools
  • Corporate groups
  • Clubs
  • Neighborhoods
  • Sports teams
  • Businesses
  • Faith-based groups
  • Groups of friends
  • Patients and families
  • Anyone who isn't able to become a fully credentialed, regular volunteer

The next time you get together with friends, you can make it fun for you and UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh too.

Service Project Opportunities

Fundraising initiatives are vital to providing much needed support to the hospital.

Monetary donations are valued because they are used to purchase the most needed items saving the hospital time sorting or storing donations.

Donors can direct their gifts to support the hospital area of their choice.

Contact the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation to begin planning your fundraising activities and projects.

Gift-in-Kind Donations

Many community members are interested in supporting UPMC Children’s, but wish to provide support through donated items instead of monetary gifts.

We enthusiastically accept donations year-round to support the needs of our patients and families.

You can donate these items individually or with a group (school, church, work, etc.) to complete a larger project.

Toy Donations

Our Child Life Department provides hospitalized children with:

  • Developmental support
  • Educational support
  • Social support
  • Emotional support

We must replenish toys and expressive activity supplies frequently, so donations are vital to maintaining a variety of engaging options for patients.

We only accept new items in original packaging due to infection prevention precautions.

Help us fulfill items on our Wish List Registry.
