If you have a child in the hospital, you know how hard it can be for them. Between receiving and recovering from treatments, your child might feel frustrated, anxious, or have trouble coping.

The Nora Grace Kaufman Center for Creative Arts Therapy at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh can enhance your child's hospital stay.

Funded through philanthropy, the center is a safe place for children to express themselves through:

• Music
• Art
• Other creative methods

Your child can also work toward emotional, social, and mental health goals.

A Healing Outlet That Mixes Therapy With the Arts

The goal of our program is to help children express themselves in a way that aids their treatment and healing. Our staff offers music and art therapy interventions paired with standard counseling techniques.

Our staff includes:

• 2 music therapists.
• 2 art therapists.
• 1 creative arts program coordinator.

Located near the rear of the Family Resource Center and library on the 6th floor, our spaces within the center include a:

• Creation Station, a space for group programming.
• Theater.
• Pottery nook.
• Creative writing corner.
• Private music therapy room.
• Private art therapy studio.
