Pediatric Surgery Fellowship Programs

Pediatric Surgery

Program Director: Kevin Mollen, MD

The goal of the advanced residency training in Pediatric Surgery at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is to develop the specialized knowledge and skills required to care for surgical disease in infants and children.

Pediatric Surgery – International

Program Director: Kevin Mollen, MD

The fellow for the Pediatric Surgery International Fellowship at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is fully integrated into the Pediatric Surgery Training Program and functions as an additional fellow to the two ACGME approved trainees.

Pediatric Surgical Critical Care

Program Director: Kelly Miller Austin, MD, MS, FACS, FAAP

The overall goal of the advanced residency training in Pediatric Surgical Critical Care at the UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is to provide advanced proficiency in the care and management of critically ill surgical patients ranging in age from extreme prematurity through adulthood, with emphasis on the pediatric surgical critical care patient.

Pediatric Colorectal Surgery

Program Director: Kelly Miller Austin, MD, MS, FACS, FAAP

The fellow for the Pediatric Colorectal Surgery Fellowship at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is fully integrated into the Pediatric Surgery Training Program and functions as an additional fellow to the two ACGME approved trainees, with a primary focus in Pediatric Colorectal Surgery.

Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Fellowship

Program Director: Victor O. Morell, MD

The Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Fellowship offers an investigational year in ventricular mechanical support and a clinical year that will provide extensive exposure in the management of simple and complex congenital heart lesions, including cardiopulmonary transplantation and assist devices.
