Craniofacial Fractures Review

Protocol Description

The objective of this prospective and retrospective investigation is to review medical record information of pediatric patients with facial fractures, so as to provide solid data regarding the demographics, treatment, and outcomes of pediatric facial fractures. Pediatric craniofacial fractures are anatomically distinct from their adult counterparts and must be managed with respect for future growth and development, yet there is little in the medical literature regarding demographics, diagnoses, treatment, and medical management of these conditions.

Eligibility Criteria

Children who have been diagnosed with a facial fracture at the Emergency Department and/or Division of Pediatric Plastic Surgery of UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh will be eligible for inclusion in this research.
Males and Females: Birth to 18 years of age

Requirements

There are no requirements of participants. Clinical data will be extracted from the medical record for review and analysis.
